Austin Bouldering Project’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Fest 5.28.22 in partnership with @AustinFoodAdventures
From 11 am to 5 PM on 5.28.22, Austin Kuih Co. will be vending at AAPI Fest, presented by Austin Bouldering Project in partnership with @AUSTINFOODADVENTURES.
“Austin Bouldering Project and Austin Food Adventures is hosting an Asian American Pacific Islander Fest showcasing local Austin restaurants, businesses, cooks, and artists May 28, 2022, which will be held at Austin Bouldering Project (979 Springdale Rd #150, Austin, TX 78702) from 11 A.M to 5 P.M. This event will be free and will be an indoor and outdoor event. Austin Bouldering Project will be offering all day climbing passes for 5 dollars the day of the event! Austin Bouldering Project AAPI fest will be an event for all ages and attendees will have a chance to purchase and try food from 8 Austin area local Asian restaurants/home cooks. There will be beef skewers and noodles from Penang Shack, dumplings from Steamie’s Dumplings, Fried chicken and soju from Seoulju ATX, Bihoon from Mia Li, Shaved Ice from Lenny Dewi, Fried rice from SXSE CO, and Japanese chicken bowls from Seeda Japanese Fusion and Malaysian baked goods from Austin Kuih Co!
Local Asian artists will also be setting up booths selling local art. Artists include The Spark Collection selling bilingual children’s books and goods, Keiko Hayner selling prints, Kaiju Cut and Sew selling Japanese leather goods and homemade items, and TT’s Creativity selling resin art and stickers. There will be events throughout the day include a yoga session with Terri Koen at 9:30 with voter registration booth, A lion dance sponsored by Seoulju ATX at 12 pm. 2 pm showing of short film, STORIES WITHIN + Q&A with the Austin Asian American Film Festival, an all-day tearoom service inside with West China Tea. 3 pm live painting from Peelander Yellow, Austin icon and legend, sponsored by Peached tortilla.
Additionally, there will be Sparkling water donated by Rambler for attendees. There will be a donation jar next to the drink station with a suggested donation for the sparkling water that will benefit Austin Asian Community Health Initiative (a nonprofit in Austin Improving the health & well- being of Asians in Central Texas through advocacy, education, and support).
